Wild-caught and sustainably harvested from the cold, clear waters of the Canadian North Atlantic, Clearwater Sea Cucumbers are harvested by independently-owned inshore vessels, using a dragging system similar to gear employed in the sea scallop fishery. Product is landed at Clearwater’s modern processing facility in Grand Bank, Newfoundland & Labrador.
The Sea Cucumbers are then eviscerated, cleaned and frozen using plate freezer technology to maintain the highest quality product possible.
Sea Cucumbers have many nutritional benefits, including being rich in essential vitamins and minerals. They are often referred to as the ‘ginseng of the sea’

Sea Cucumber has a jelly texture and a subtle taste, much like tofu. Soaking in water helps the species retain its tender texture. Sea cucumber is used fresh or dried in a variety of Asian dishes, commonly cooked in Japanese hot pots and Chanko soups. Excellent when paired with dried scallops, shiitake mushrooms, Chinese cabbage or winter melon.
