In 2007, Clearwater's Argentine operations became the first scallop fishery in the world to receive Marine Stewardship Council certified and in 2008, the Canadian Northern Shrimp fishery became the first Canadian fishery certified. As of March 2010, the Eastern Canadian offshore sea scallops fishery received MSC certification. As of June 2010, the Eastern Canadian offshore lobster fishery also received MSC certification.
Stringent quality control practices are mandatory on our vessels and in our processing plants, all of which are HACCP certified or equivalent. Clearwater has implemented standards above the regulatory requirements as demonstrated by our Internal Quality Management Audit team.

Clearwater is pleased to announce the recent certification of two of our processing facilities under the British Retail Consortium (BRC) standard for food safety. Pierce Fisheries, specializing in processed lobster and and Argentine scallops, and St. Anthony Seafoods, specializing in cooked and peeled shrimp have been certified by the BRC, the global leader in food safety standards.
