  1. Q: Wondering if your 2 oz to 3 oz shelled lobster tails are cold water lobster tails?
A: Yes, all of the shelled lobster products including tails, claws & knuckles and legs come from the cold, clear Atlantic Canadian ocean.
  2. Q: What fish are safe to eat when pregnant and is this the best way to buy seafood as far as pure and fresh, safe? thanks
A: Thank you for your question: What fish are safe to eat when pregnant and is this the best way to buy seafood as far as pure and fresh, safe? thanks Finfish is the perfect protein for pregnant women with the exception of Escolar and Sablefish which contain a strong enzyme which can't be broken down by the human body. There are studies which recommend a minimal consumption of farmed Salmon and Tilapia as they contain high levels of some heavy metals. Only "wild caught shellfish" is recommended. It is also recommended that fish is cooked not eaten raw as sashimi or sushi.
  3. Q: Should the rubber bands be removed prior to cooking?
A: It is preferred to remove the bands prior to cooking lobsters as some people feel the bands will impart a rubber taste into the lobsters. If you are nervous at all about removing the bangs, remember to hold the lobsters on the upper part of their body, closer to their head as they can not turn their claws enough to get in that close, or leave the bands on. Use a sharp pair of kitchen shears to cut the bands. Visit www.clearwater.ca for great recipe ideas or to have delicious seafood delivered direct to your door.
